Obituary of Hein van der Linde

van der Linde- Hein van der Linde of St. Thomas, passed away, surrounded by his family, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the age of 55. Hein is survived by his loving wife Wei Wei Wang and his son Cody van der Linde of St. Thomas; by his mother Maria van der Linde; his siblings Henk (Linda) van der Linde, David van der Linde, Helena van der Linde (Don Whitcroft) all of St. Thomas; by his mother-in-law Zhi Min Pan, brother-in-law Wei Bau Wang, and sister-in-law Wei Yu Wang all of China; and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his father Hein van der Linde, his brother William “Billy” van der Linde, and his father-in-law Xi Suang Wang. Hein worked at Norlon Builders in London as a Site Supervisor. He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed time fishing, golfing, looking at classic cars, and volunteering with the Kinsmen Club of St. Thomas. Cremation has taken place. A public visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm. A private graveside service will take place at Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery on a later date. If desired, donations to the Kinsmen Club of St. Thomas would be appreciated.
