Obituary of Steve Spiering

SPIERING- Steven Alexander of St. Thomas passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, September 7, 2020 at the age of 42. Steve will be deeply missed by his wife Wei Song “Esther “Spiering in China; by his parents Trish Spiering of St. Thomas and Bill Spiering (Pat) of Bayfield; by his brother Scott and his children Brayden and Kayley of St. Thomas; by his grandmother Sybil Walker (late Richard), by his sister-in-law Kathy Helmer Spiering; by his aunts and uncles Shirley Westman (Barry), Richard Walker (Eva), Pauline Campbell (George), Joy Goldman (John), Arie Spiering (Bev), Connie Maxey (George), and Dick Spiering (Jane); by his cousins David, Stephanie (Sebastian), Brian, Adam, Michael (Tanys) in Calgary, Sara (Thomas) in Melbourne, Australia, Tiffany (Dennis) in Los Angeles, Woody (Kathryn) in Edmonton, Ethan, Alexandria (Mathieu), Ken, Adrian (Erika), Leah (Riley), Mark (Jenn), Corinna, Kelly (Brad), Joanne (Sebastian), and David (Lisa); and by his many second cousins and friends. Predeceased by his grandparents Willem and Cornelias Spiering. Steve taught English in China for many years, where he met and eventually married Wei Song. Before moving to China, he worked in property maintenance. Steve enjoyed watching and playing sports, especially cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays.
