I remember Arthur with His smile upon his face and a chuckle in his heart. As his walk reflected his humble spirit , he was always willing to see the positive element in people and to encourage others in their walk. Yes he did exemplify the Lord but carrying His light.
I was blessed to have Heather and David in my Grade 7 classes. Arthur’s hand was upon you as you walked with integrity , purpose and confidence. As a family, you continue to to share and to shine. I thank Arthur for accepting the challenge and enabling many to do the same. You are an amazing family!
Sincerely yours, Bill Turford

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Mr. Cairncross was such a kind, wise man but full of fun. I remember fondly those trips back and forth to Central Christian High School with all of us packed in the car. Many great conversations and likely quite comical to listen to. Mr. Cairncross will be deeply missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. Jacqueline Peterson

I have known Arthur for my entire life. He and Beth have been a part of our family for over 40 years. I remember when he would drive us to Christian school in London in their station wagon when we car pooled. I took swimming lessons at their house on Rosebery place and was babysat by his daughter's. As I grew up and met my future husband I knew the only person who could marry us was him. Both Arthur and Beth provided marriage counseling prior to us getting married which is still invaluable to us today 17 years later. He was a consistent example of how God said we should live our lives daily. We rejoice he is in heaven but will miss him dearly. Praying for comfort at this time for the entire family.

Beth and family:
We are very sad to hear of the passing of Arthur. You folks were among our first acquaintances when we first moved to St. Thomas over 40 years ago. You were so kind and welcoming and we forged a "forever" bond even though we haven't seen much of each other for years now. I remember your kids in my youth group... Heather and I were especially close. I remember the girls at LBBC but I especially remember Arthur and Beth taking us out to dinner at the Hunt Club in London on my birthday, which I share with Beth. We were very much touched by your generosity, thoughtfulness and love in that instance and many others. Arthur made the world a better place and impacted many, many people for the Kingdom. I consider him to be one of my early mentors! He will be greatly missed by so many people. God's peace and comfort for you, his family!

My mind is flooded with great memories of Arthur. He and Beth made Monique and I and the girls feel so welcome when we first started at Faith. Wonderful memories include YAC class, great times of praise and worship, Arthur's passionate "YESSSSSSS!!!!!", his earnest speaking from the heart, trips to a few Promise Keepers events and much more. Arthur was a small man in physical stature but his heart for serving and mentoring was larger than life. He was "the real deal". One of the most accepting, loving, Christ-like men I have ever known.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you go through this difficult time.
God Bless,
Mike and Monique Nisbet

Arthur gave me my first job as a pharmacy student at the Elgin St location in 1978. John Ball and Doug Small were staff pharmacists. Arthur was real gentle man, kind, thoughtful and caring. The world should have more people like him. Sorry for your loss.

I also met Arthur when he was head of the Pharmacy department , during my younger years of being a nurse at STEGH. He was always polite, soft spoken, and wore a contagious smile. He took me under his wings and he became a second father figure to me. If he saw me or heard me, I would end up getting a call from him to tell me he was sending something on our medication lift. It was usually a pill bottle filled with candy or a note. It made my day and put a big smile on my face. Then I was privilege to work with his daughter Heather, who is an amazing nurse and became my work wife for many years ❤️
I was also privileged to take care of a family member, who had such a beautiful soul. I received this mason jar, which had inside of it a piece of paper, written like a prescription, filled with jelly beans, which I still have to this day.
When I retired from my nursing career last year, he came to the hospital to celebrate, and gave me a gift, even though......
his presence, was my gift. It was from Beth and Arthur, and in the card he left his number and address and said I was always welcome to call or visit.
He comforted me when my dad passed away a year ago , by showing up to the visitation, and sending his condolences from Beth and him.
When they say’ God always takes the best one’...... they definitely took the ‘cream of the crop’.
My condolences to the family during this very difficult time...... he is watching over you now . Hold him tight and close to your heart, until you meet him again ❤️❤️❤️

I have the pleasure of working with Arthur's daughter Heather at STEGH. In July I attended a small celebration at Heather and Dave's house to celebrate Jessica's graduation. Arthur spoke at it and I remember Heather saying he worked on his speech for weeks leading up to the day. You could tell he was so proud of Jessica and his entire family. He would often come visit Heather at work and he always had a smile on his face and only kind words to say.
I am thinking of your entire family during this time and sending strength and love.

Dear Beth,
So sorry to hear of Arthur`s death. Deepest condolences to you and the family as you mourn this great loss. I will never forget Arthurs kindness. A few years ago I bumped into him in a hospital corridor and Impulsively asked if he would say a prayer at the bedside of my dying niece. He did, and I feel Arthur helped her so much at that time!!. She ended up accepting Christ before she died.! May God comfort you all as you grieve. Love in Christ, Mary Anne Beckley
