I just want to express my deepest sympathy to you all for your loss of loving husband, father and grandfather. I have heard about the Maedel's for as long back as I can remember. You were all so good to mom and dad throughout all those years at Maedel Beverages! I'm sure you have many wonderful memories from over the years that will help you get through this difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and will never be forgotten for all your wonderful years of friendship.

Lisa (Piper) Matis posted a condolence
Dear Edna & Family,
I was truly sorry to hear of Don's passing and I would like to offer my deepest condolences to you all. I think of you Edna, and Don, every time I pass the house you owned in Tully Meadows, where I would visit to deliver your Avon order. We always had a chat and we would catch one another up on our "family news" - and we kept in touch with cards and notes at Christmas once you left Essex and I had a family of my own. I grew up hearing about the Maedel family and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know you a little more personally. I pray the love of your family and friends will surround you and the memories shared will comfort you all in the days and weeks to come.
Condolences also from my brothers: David and Robert Piper.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,
Lisa, Tom, Hannah & Daniel Matis

We were so fortunate to grow up in the small community of Essex where everyone knew everyone and looked out for each other. Those days seem so long ago now. Thank you

Thank you Neil and Cheryl. These are the times in life that one realizes it is less about the big events but more the small every day happenings that form the fabric of our lives. The comings and goings and the moment to moment interplay. A helping hand when needed or a smile and a hello. As a family, we have a better understanding of just how many threads Dad added to pattern of so many lives. Thanks you again for your kind thoughts.

My deepest sympathy to the Mandel family. It has been many years since we last spoke but I will be forever grateful to Don Sr for starting me on my 42 year career. I know that you have made a lot of memories over the years so keep them close to your heart and Don will always be with you

Thank you Cathy for thinking of us at this difficult time. Each of us has taken a moment, over the last few days, to reflect upon the many people who have share in our lives. From the many kind calls and letters received, there is no doubt that Dad would have been pleased to know that he played a positive part in so many people's lives.

Dear Don, Nancy, Sue & Families:
As you know I spent many years being apart of your family at the Maedel Residence. I loved your Mom and Dad and they always treated me like a "daughter"; would laugh at my antics and scold Sue & I when it was needed. Your Dad was a bright, intelligent fine gentleman and I will remember him that way always. My heart goes out to all of you in your loss. You are in my prayers.
*Please give a special hug to your Mom as she mourns a life long mate. God bless you all,
Brenda (Burling) & Family xoxo
