Sorry to hear about John's passing. The Leafs have lost one of their biggest fans. The Andreychuks always looked forward to Saturdays and watching Hockey Night in Canada with John Mecs. He stuck by his team and we all learned a few choice Hungarian words as well.....many laughs and good memories. Our condolences to his family. Steve and Julie Andreychuk

Best Tata (Grandpa) I could’ve asked for he’s taught me so much in life to appreciate everything and to not let the little things in life bother you or knock you down, this man had the biggest heart of gold ever, he’s had my back since day 1 and I’ve had his, from the time we hitch hiked to foodland and an opp officer picked us up to me picking him up when I got my license and taking him to get lottery tickets. Too many memories to write down on this page but I could keep going on and on. I love him so very much he may be gone but never forgotten, may his soul Rest In Peace I love you Tata❤️

I have many great memories of John and there is not enough space here to lay them all out. However a couple stand out that every time I think of them or tell the kids about always makes me laugh. One of these is the homemade still John had. I know that might be a surprise to some of you but he was quite invested in this still. I swear he could make alcohol out of any fruit or vegetable on the planet. The funniest part was that every time I visited him and the still, he was so paranoid that the RCMP were gonna raid him, that he always swore me to secrecy! I laughed and laughed and tried to tell him that “ I’m pretty sure the Mounties have ALOT more important things to worry about than your little still John” And I would laugh non-stop...until I tried the swill he made then I couldn’t stop coughing!! Great times with the Ol man and many, many great times with him. Rest In Peace my friend! Love Brian
