Dear John (to us, your family in Holland, you're still Han...), Derek, Christine, Helen and Pauline,
Although I don't have any problem writing in english, I will write my words to you in dutch and I hope you will understand everything I write here below.....
......in het nederlands om jullie op deze manier de belangrijke link met Holland te laten behouden want hoewel we te ver uit elkaar leven, zijn we natuurlijk nog altijd close bloedverwanten. Jullie spraken prachtig tijdens de dienst: we hebben zojuist via de live stream mee kunnen kijken (Karin, mijn vrouw, en ik) en het ontroerde ons om te zien en te horen hoe veel jullie van jullie moeder, mijn tante, houden. Ik hield het niet helemaal droog.....
Alles wat ik over tante Tinie hoorde klopte: ook ik herinner me haar als een altijd vriendelijke, belangstellende en lieve tante. Gezellig ook! Het was altijd weer leuk om haar te ontmoeten.
Goed ook om jullie weer eens te zien. Alleen Derek hebben we niet van de voorkant kunnen aanschouwen maar we zagen dat hij het er erg moeilijk mee had. Ik herken dat want bij de uitvaartdienst van mijn vader, jullie ome Arie, had ik het ook enorm zwaar mede omdat ik destijds in een moeilijke fase van mijn leven zat.
Wij willen tot slot onze grote bewondering voor Christine uitspreken: het is geweldig wat jij voor jouw moeder hebt gedaan de laatste jaren! Diep respect.
Heel veel sterkte gewenst en, zoals Vera Lynn het zo mooi kon zingen, we'll meet again.....!

To the family.
Your Mom and Oma was a beautiful person inside and out. We have many fond memories of her. Our favourite spot in church was sitting in front or behind your Dad/Opa and Mom/Oma. What a group of special people in that bench. I also was very touched as after a surgery she came over and gave me a pedicure with her little kit. I have never forgotten that beautiful memory of such a caring person and such a humbling act. . May the Lord give you the comfort you need at this time and may He surround you all with His loving arms.
