Donna and family i am so sorry for your loss. It has been a difficult year for you all. I only knew Steve a few years. He was a great poker and story teller. Made me laugh many a time. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

Steve obviously loved the quiet of nature at the cottage, so I think he would appreciate the cool shade a tree will provide anywhere. Love& big hugs! Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

Knowing that I like birds, the last time we saw Steve, he gave me this lovely piece of art that he carved himself. Each small piece is carved and stained or painted separately, then they are assembled into a composite piece of art. (There is a name for this type of carving, but it escapes me.) Little Jenny Wren, with her tail straight up in the air as wrens do, perched on a cracked teacup, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns, becharms everyone who sees her on the shelf in my china cabinet and lifts my spirits every time I look at her. To me, the piece represents many of Steve’s hidden qualities: thoughtful consideration, time, patience, skill, generosity and of course humour. Jenny means even more to me now. Donna, Sarah, Katie, Matthew, Emily, Anna, Evelyn, Andrew and Henry, we are so sorry for your loss.
Our deepest condolences,
Anne and Brian Barbour, Coboconk, Ontario

Susan & I are saddened by the passing of Steve. Our condolences to you Donna and all the family. We had many good times with you folks at Chatham, London and the cottage . I enjoyed working with Steve. We had a great relationship at work and enjoyed a few good times after work. He taught me how to skin a canoe which is still secure today. Steve will be sadly missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
