Obituary of Jo Ann Sandra Card

CARD – It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Jo Ann Sandra Card (nee: Girardin) on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 60.  Jo Ann was the best mom, the proudest Nana, the most wonderful sister, and was an absolute joy to all who knew her.  Jo Ann was a hard worker, both in life and in her career.  She worked as a Radiological Technologist in both hospitals and clinics.  She loved canning season, and the springtime with the flowers and the robins.  She was extremely artistic and so creative with her crafts, sewing and writing.  She always put her family and friends first, and always made sure everything she did for them was so special and full of love.  She loved the Dave Matthews Band, tanning on the beach, and enjoyed all of the flavours of the world.  She was a wine enthusiast and a theme party planning extraordinaire.  Jo Ann loved to shop… “shop ‘till you drop!”.  She would always find the most unique and beautiful gifts for others, and rarely purchased things for herself.  She loved to travel and was able to see some amazing places on her journey of life, but some of her most treasured places were Port Stanley, Pelee Island, and Niagara Falls.  Jo Ann was such a beam of light… but even the brightest lights burn out.  Jo Ann lost her long and hard battle with depression.  The family is reminding those who are reading this to always reach out for help in times of struggles, and to hold your loved one’s just a little bit tighter today and every day.  Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.  Cremation to follow.  A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  If desired, donations to Canadian Mental Health Association Elgin would be appreciated.
