I was shocked and saddened to learn of Alex’s death. We grew up together in Toronto and got into so much mischief through grade school and high school. So many fond and fun memories. My sincere condolences to Jack, Peter, Michael and all the extended family. She will be sorely missed.

Alex touched thousands of hearts across this country. For many years, I witnessed her dedication to championing change, challenging the status quo, recognizing others’ achievements, and creating life-long memories. Alex was responsible for many of the best moments of my career; it was such an honour to help set fire to executive minds, craft indelible conferences, and make employees feel appreciated – all achieved through her focus on promoting positive learning and unique, celebratory experiences.
Alex’s spirit was generous, her humour infectious, and her loyalty ran deep. I’ll forever miss dear Über, (way before anyone ever heard of uber). The essence of ‘loving you’ will remain our legacy – to care about each other, while getting the work done.

Aunt Alex was one of the best hair braiders on the block. We were lucky enough to have the family just down the street from us growing up, and it made Glengrove Avenue feel like a second home. Now, I am saddened to think of all the years you were still just down the street and we did not see each other.
I am grateful for how close our families were the first half of my life and the memories it gave me. Like being able to play with all Peter and Michael’s cool toys that our parents would never buy us. Even if I was too big for them, like the power wheels jeep wrangler. I often babysat the boys on weekends, and in the summers I would travel with family to Port Stanley and Ivry. Aunt Alex’s weekend work trips to Montreal were a special treat. We would get to stay in a fancy hotel, shop until we dropped and then stop for high tea. Laughter and fun followed Aunt Alex everywhere she went.
A large period of life went by that we lost touch. Nevertheless, when I did reach out you welcomed me warmly back into Glengrove like no time had passed. This time there was lots of wine, cheese, hugs and laughter. She listened and supported me in a way no one else could and I am forever grateful to her for this. The last time I saw her, we drank wine, ate cheese, and laughed while I raided her closet at Glengrove before the big move. I came home with a beautiful pair of her cowboy boots, and I think about her every time I wear them.
I planned to visit her and the family in Port Stanley when I finally got my first car this year. I never thought we would have run out of time so quickly. A terribly harsh reminder of how short life can be.
Uncle Jack, Peter and Michael, words cannot describe how deep my heart aches for all of you and this unfair loss. I hope to give you each a big hug in person soon.

Twenty-something year old me had never met anyone quite like you - unapologetically yourself.
You became my work sister, my work mom, and my work BFF all in one. I absolutely loved you. Outside of work you were simply a great person and friend and there are too many memories.
