Joyce was such a special person as has been evident with so many wonderful tributes. I also taught with Joyce at Forest Park after previously covering her maternity leave at New Sarum when Josh was born. I am sorry I was not able to pay my respects this past weekend and on Monday as we were away. We all loved you, Joyce and I send my heartfelt sympathies to her much loved family!

It is with deep sadness I read of Joyce's passing. We first met about 60 years ago at Pearce Williams Christian Centre, as campers and then later we worked together as counsellors. What a lot of fun we had! We met again when our children attended New Sarum Public School, as well as when I supply taught at Forest Park Public School. She was a kind, friendly, dedicated, compassionate and outstanding educator and friend! I will always remember Joyce's beautiful smile and love of life! She remained so courageous and positive when health challenges came her way. Joyce was an inspiration to many!
My sincere sympathy to her family.

We became family when Joyce's beautiful daughter Sarah, married our son Chuck. This kind, caring, and intelligent person became part of our life. She was a teacher, and one of the best as the many tributes here will tell you. She taught us love and mixed in with her passion for soccer, her grandkids, and family, she taught us how to have fun. Di and I will miss her dearly, but we will remember the good times. And, knowing she is at peace will help mend our broken hearts.

My family and I are very sorry to learn of Joyce's passing. Joyce was such an amazing, positive, caring teaching colleague at Forest Park. She was such a beloved teacher as well as coach to many students. I am still in awe of all the community work Joyce selflessly did for countless children through her years and years of work with the soccer club. She never failed to greet children and parents alike with genuine enthusiasm. I used to tease Joyce that she was pretty much a celebrity because it was impossible to go anywhere in town without someone immediately recognizing this dear lady. Joyce's memory will be forever cherished by so many. Deepest condolences to her wonderful children and family.

I am so sad to hear of Joyce’s passing , I first knew Joyce through Soccer when my son played . Like so many other families that came to know her . Joyce was the ultimate soccer mom , I don’t think there was ever a time when Joyce was not at the soccer pitches making sure things were running smoothly. As with most of the families you loose contact but when my grandsons started to play soccer there was Joyce still at the soccer pitch. And welcoming everyone back to another summer of soccer. She had a great smile and it was always a pleasure to see and have a chit chat. She will be missed

I am so saddened to hear about Joyce. I first met Joyce and Sarah when Joyce coached me in ringette. Over the years I would always see her on the soccer fields when my daughter played. We would get talking for almost an hour or longer everytime I ran into her. She would always talk about her children and grandchildren and how proud she was of them. About 10 years ago Joyce told me someone showed up banging on her back door for help and she thought it was me so she opened the door right up, but it wasn't me. We laughed about this everytime we saw eachother. I can still visualize her telling me the story. Joyce was an amazing person in the community and gave so much of her time to help others. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. My deepest condolences to Bryan, Sarah, Josh and families

I met Joyce many years ago through teaching. Before Joyce and I ever taught together, our children were at Parkside at the same time. Then we actually taught together at Forest Park for several years until I retired. We often bumped into each other on Sunday afternoons at the school! We seemed to find time for chats, instead of working! I told her we had to stop meeting like that or the neighbours would start talking! I often called her “Joycie,” Sarah actually stayed at my daughter’s in Niagara Falls when she first went there. She ended up living in Welland where my other daughter lives. Our sincere condolences to Bryan, Sarah, and Josh. We hope your memories of your Mom will live forever in your hearts. She was a special lady!

I was in my second year of teaching when I met Joyce at New Sarum PS. We spent so many years teaching side by side there, and both transferred to Forest Park PS, where our classrooms were once again side by side. She was a friend that made me smile over the fifty one years I was lucky enough to know her. To her children, Greg and I send our deepest condolences. Your Mother was loved by so many and will be remembered always.

I met Joyce almost 40 years ago through St. Thomas Soccer Mom’s when my son played soccer. Years later when watching my grandchildren play soccer I would still see Joyce at almost every soccer field in town. She always greeted you with a smile and she never forgot a familiar face. Her love for soccer & all the kids on the field was obvious to all. I always admired her for the valiant fight she put up over the years all the while staying active in the community groups she was so devoted to. My condolences to Joyce’s loved ones. May your cherished memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.
