Obituary of Elgin Johnson

JOHNSON – Robert Elgin of St Thomas passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the age of 83.  Beloved husband of Betty Johnson (nee Hotchkiss).  Elgin is survived by his children Joanne Therrien (Denis) of St Thomas, Barbara Rich (Cliff) of Union and Wayne Johnson; grandchildren Alan Therrien, Megan Caicedo, and Brian Therrien (Kaitlin); great grandchildren Ellie, Raya, Colton, Abby, Declan and Liam.  Elgin will be missed by his siblings Janet Fentie (late Garry), Eva St Gelais (late John), Keith Johnson (Sugar) and Lloyd Johnson (Cheryl).  Predeceased by his parents Emerson and Grace Johnson and brother in law Bill Hotchkiss (Veronica).  Elgin was a long time employee with the Ford Motor Company in Talbotville. Elgin also owned a bike shop in St Thomas on Hiawatha Street.  Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
