Obituary of Bill Grant

GRANT- William “Bill” Charles of St. Thomas, passed away at home, surrounded by his family at the age of 73.  Bill is survived by his loving wife Joyce (nee Barrie); by his children Heather Grant of Edmonton, and Shelley (J.P.) Leblanc and their son Elliott of St. Thomas; by his sister Shirley (Larry) Dennis; and his brother-in-law Rob Barrie.  Bill will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews William Barrie, Alison (Dr. Greg) Lyle, Ian Barrie (Kelsey Moxam) and their son Zander, Katharine Barrie (Drake Gladstone), Sherry Crooker, Ryan (Nina) Crooker and their son Oliver; and by his many other cousins and friends.  Predeceased by his parents Morley Grant and Pearl Cook, and by his brother Jim Grant.  Bill’s working career took him across Canada, starting at Consolidated Bathurst, then moving to Manitoba with the Thompson Mining Company and Bristol Aerospace, and later making his way back to Formet Industries in St. Thomas.  In his spare time, Bill enjoyed relaxing at The Lakewood RV Resort in Rodney, trips to Florida, and cheering on the Bruins.  Cremation has taken place and a private interment of ashes will be held in Elmdale Memorial Park Cemetery.  A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on a later date.  If desired, donations to STEGH-Foundation would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca
