Obituary of Gord Campbell

CAMPBELL- James Gordon Campbell of St. Thomas passed away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, with his family by his side, on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the age of 85.  Gord will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Marlene (nee Israel) of St. Thomas; by his sons Mark (Karen Thompson) of Belmont and Steve (Holly) of Kitchener; by his grandchildren Lucas and Justin of Listowel; his sister Marilyn Terrell; by his siblings-in-law Deb Campbell, Evelyn (Don) Gaudette, and Russ (Marie) Israel.  Gord was born in Rodney, Ontario to the late Victor and J. Adeline Campbell.  Predeceased by his brother Don (2018), his son Doug (2015), and by his brothers-in-law Dennis (Nancy) Israel and Roger Israel.  Gord worked at Ford Motor Company in Talbotville for over 40 years.  He was a proud champion of his community having served as Alderman on St. Thomas City Council for over 3 decades, sat on the Board of Directors at the St. Thomas Seniors Centre, Police Services Board, United Way, the St. Thomas Cemetery and many other organizations.  Cremation has taken place.  The family will gather privately to inter Gord and his son Doug together in their family plot in South Park Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570).  If desired, donations to the St. Thomas Seniors Centre or the Alzheimer Society-Southwest Partners would be appreciated.  Personal condolences to the family can be made at www.sjfh.ca

Private interment of ashes

The family will gather privately to inter Gord and his son Doug together in their family plot in South Park Cemetery.
