My thoughts are with Vera and family, Julie, Scott and families, today. I was fond of Jamie whom I would see when he was by to visit my brother. I knew him to be kind, warm and a really lovely man, all of which left me feeling sad when I learned of his passing. I wish you all strength and courage as you navigate the days and weeks ahead. Oh this is a tough one. Jamie and I shared alotta road together beginning at Frome school in grade 3. We travelled out west together, got up to a wee bit of mischief together over the years and he was one of my groomsmen 35 years ago. We continued to stay in touch even as our lives took different paths. Jamie was a kind, funny (dry wit) and generous man and was loved by many. He was also a very good athlete in his younger days and a talented craftsman. I was so looking forward to seeing him enjoy his retirement with Vera. Steve Burnham and I we're honoured to spend some time with Jamie and his family members during his final day and he was able to rally enough to give me a few shots about being an "artsy fartsy".
I was looking forward to spending some more time with him in our retirement years. Way too soon and fast. You'll be missed my friend.
