Obituary of John Henry Palmer

PALMER - John Henry of Southwold Township passed away at home surrounded by family, on January 13, 2016 at the age of 77, after a long struggle with MS. Beloved husband of Margaret Palmer (nee Grigg). Loving father of Stewart and his wife Mary Jane, Lisa and her husband Jodi McGlone, and the late Stephen Palmer (1985). Loving grandfather of Michael, Janessa (Gord), and Shawn Palmer, and Eric and Kyle McGlone. Dear brother of Jean Taschereau (the late Hank). Brother-in-law of Shirley and Alex Bosley, Peter and Jane Grigg. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Son of the late Elsie (Nethercott) and Harry Palmer. Predeceased by his brother Ralph and his wife Helen Palmer, and nephew Jim Palmer. John was a lifelong farmer and resident of Southwold Township. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00pm, where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 3:00pm. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation, or a charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
