Obituary of David Michael Wright

WRIGHT - David Michael of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, December 5, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 61. Loving husband of Freida Wright (nee Beierling) for 35 years. Dear father of Craig Wright of St. Thomas and Jason Wright of London. Much loved and proud Papa of twin grandsons, Braydin and Trevor Wright of St. Thomas. Dear brother of Mary Ann (Edward) Walser of Shedden, Bonnie (Peter) Geelen of St. Thomas, and Robert Wright of London. Special brother to Bryan Vaughn and Leanne Rex. Sadly missed by a large number of nieces and nephews. Dave was born in St. Thomas on November 5, 1954, the son of the late James and Marjorie (Patterson) Wright. David worked at the St. Thomas and London Psychiatric Hospitals for nearly 30 years in different departments, retiring from landscaping in 2003. He also worked at J. Verbruggen Trucking Ltd., Union, for over 20 years. He was a loving and loud teddy bear to all who knew him. Friends will be received at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. A Celebration of David’s life will be held in the chapel on Thursday, December 10 at 1:00pm. Cremation to follow, with interment of ashes at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
