Obituary of Lydia Burkart
BURKART - Lydia Burkart (nee Miller) of Elgin Manor St. Thomas, Ont. went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 23, 2015 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Herman Burkart. Dearly loved mother of Vanita Stewart of St. Thomas, Lloyd (Jo-Anne) Burkart of Atlanta, Georgia. Dear mother-in-law of Lisé Burkart of Quebec. Forever remembered by her grandchildren Michelle (Mike) Scully of Sarnia, Lisa Brown of London, Kim Burkart of California, Nicole (Rick) Langlois of California, and Matthew Burkart of Atlanta, Georgia. Loved by her great grandchildren Peri and Quin Langlois, Ryley Burkart, Jesse and Nicolas Beauchamp, Amy and Madison Brown. Predeceased by her son Richard Burkart (Sept. 1, 2015) and her grandson Jeff Stewart (2000). Lydia was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was very active in Lutheran Church activities in Saskatchewan and in Simcoe, Windsor and Kingsville. Lydia was an accomplished artist and crafts person, as well as a super mom, wife and grandmother. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service with interment of ashes, beside her dear husband, in Greenhill Cemetery, Kingsville, Ontario at a later date. If desired, donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Thomas would be appreciated. Cremation with Interment
