Obituary of Jacobus Johannes Huber
HUBER - Jacobus “Jack” Johannes of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at St. Thomas General Hospital on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Barbara Huber (nee Turenhout). Jack is survived by children Wayne (Marilyn) Huber of Port Bruce, Barb (Bob) Laye of Exeter, and Jack (Mary Lynn) Huber of Port Bruce. Dearly loved grandfather of Julie (Paul) Cumberland and their children Michaela and Leah of St. Thomas, Rianne (Brian) Gingerich and their daughter Mackenzie of Grand Bend, Vanessa (Cam) Eveland and their children Maaike and Caia of St. Joseph, and Alicia (Charlie) Rau and their children Danica and Roscoe of Exeter. Predeceased by his parents Wynand and Pieternella Huber, and his 2 sisters in the Netherlands. Jack was a member of the Royal Dutch Navy and served in the Indonesian War as a Marine Engineer. He was a welder at GM Diesel for over 20 years. There will be a private family gathering prior to cremation. Public visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00pm, with the memorial service taking place in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment of ashes in South Park Cemetery. If desired, donations to STEGH Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation
