Obituary of Eleanor F. Brown

BROWN - Eleanor Brown (nee Ray) of St. Thomas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late William T. Brown. Sadly missed by children Stephen Brown of St. Thomas, Ray (Helen) Brown of St. Thomas, Michael (Claire) Brown of London; grandchildren Jessica (Chad), Daniel, Simone, and Luc; great-grandson James; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Laura Ray, her sisters Louise Brown (Alex) and Ruth Burrell (Robert), her nephew Ron, and her niece Laura. Eleanor retired from the Township of Elgin office, where she had worked as a Secretary. She was a member of the Shedden Women’s Institute, and was a mentor for survivors of breast cancer. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00am. Spring Interment in Shedden Cemetery. If desired, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association, Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, or London Regional Cancer Program would be appreciated.
