Obituary of Carl Dennie Shaw

SHAW - Carl Dennie Shaw passed away suddenly, at home on Thursday, February 20, 2014 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Lorna Shaw (nee Harrison) of St. Thomas. Loving father of Carl Shaw of Cranbrook, B.C., Karen Shaw (Anil Dhir) of Ann Arbor, Mich., Frances (Christopher) Vinskas of Brampton, John (Christine) Shaw of Southwold, Paul (Tina) Shaw of Sparta. Adored grandfather of Adam , Kailash, Sanjay, Uma, Elly, Rachel, Ross, Aron, Amy, WD, Grace, Luke. Great-grandfather of Zoey. Greatly missed by his siblings George (Betty Jean) Shaw, Marie (Bill) Turvey, Larry (Elaine) Shaw all of St. Thomas. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Elsie Cudmore of B.C., and Mildred Austin of Ottawa, and brothers-in-law Cecil (Marilyn) Harrison of Alberta, and Bill Hibbard of Ontario. Predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Morris and Joan Shaw. Dennie was born in Newmarket, Ontario, to the late Carl and Marie Shaw. He was a co-owner of Shaw’s Ice Cream, and in his spare time enjoyed visiting friends and vacationing in Florida. He was a member of Eastwood Fellowship Baptist Church. Visitation will take place at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Eastwood Fellowship Baptist Church 400 Wellington Street, St. Thomas on Monday, February 24 at 2:00pm with visitation one hour prior.
