Obituary of Catherine C. MacDonald

Catherine Creswell (Head) MacDonald In her 98th year, on February 2, 2014, in St. Thomas, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Alexander Hastie MacDonald (who predeceased her in 2001); loving mother of Lesley Cameron and Cathy Hedley and mother-in-law of Gordon Cameron and Paul Hedley. Dear grandmother of Mark (Sandra Cruz-Salas) and Carolyn Hedley (Jeff Nitychoruk); and Ian (Jessica Kundapur), Heather and David Cameron. Very proud great-grandmother of Julian and Daniel Hedley, Leah Cameron, and Marin Nitychoruk. Catherine was born in Regina, the daughter of Dr. Charles Head and Winnifred Creswell. She was predeceased by her brothers Harry Head (Regina) and Charles Head (Toronto) and by her sister Evelyn Gosnell (London). Catherine’s family was always the most important part of her life, followed by her work in the church (for many years, Knox United Church, Agincourt, ON), a good book and a lively bridge game. She was a lifelong fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The family would like to thank Caressant Care on Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, for their wonderful care over the past year. As Catherine requested, a private family service will be held at a future date, with inurnment at Knox United Church Cemetery in Agincourt. Donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation or your charity of choice will be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). Cremation with Interment A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
