Obituary of Leo Vandenberg
VANDENBERG- Jacobus Leonardus “Leo” Vandenberg passed away, surrounded by his family, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the age of 74. Leo is survived by his loving wife Eleanor “Sam” Vandenberg of St. Thomas; his children Vicky (Mark) Heddle, Jenny Vandenberg (Luke Fairweather), and Dave (Kris) Vandenberg all of St. Thomas; his grandchildren Blayne and Abby Heddle, Bobbi Fonger and Brock Vandenberg, Brielle and Matt Vandenberg; his great grandchildren Nevaeh and Jackson; his sisters Eileen (John) Witlox of London, Johanna (late Kevin) Tobin of St. Thomas; his brother John (Gemma) Vandenberg of St. Thomas; sisters-in-law Mary Vandenberg of St. Thomas, and Lois Vandenberg of Petawawa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Richard Vandenberg (1987); his brothers Henk Vandenberg, Bill (Marie) Vandenberg, and Arnold Vandenberg. Leo worked at Ford Motor Company-Talbotville. Visitation will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am.
