Obituary of Margaret Rose Smith

SMITH - Margaret Rose (nee Gordon) of St. Thomas passed peacefully away at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late Doug Smith. Margaret is survived by her children Deb Carnegie of Union, Alan (Linda) Carnegie of Grimsby, Brian Carnegie of St. Thomas; daughter-in-law Cherie (Phil) Doyon of St. Thomas; dear friend Steve Carnell; grandchildren Brandon Carnegie, Shandel Carnegie, Jason (Michelle) Carnegie, David Carnegie, Laura Carnegie, Danielle Doyon, Connor Carnegie, Nicole Carnegie, Justin Carnegie; great grandchildren McKenin, Addison, Rebecca, Alyssa, Kayla, and Brenton. Predeceased by her grandson Ryan Carnegie (2010). A private family gathering will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 10:00 - 11:00am, where the private family service will take place in the chapel at 11:00am. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital - Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
