Obituary of W.D. Martin McHardy

Obituary McHARDY- William David Martin “Scotty” of St. Thomas and formerly of Brampton, passed away at Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in his 89th year. Much loved by daughter Gail McHardy-Leitch (Donald Leitch); his son David McHardy; granddaughter Ailsa Leitch; sister Eileen Cameron (late Donnie); brother-in-law Fred Taylor (late Ann). Like family to Ollie and Rae Strong, Sarah and Orval Mashinter, Edna and Keith Richardson, Marlene and Jack McIntyre, late Ken and Lois Reid, and their families. Scotty was born in Scotland, son of the late Frank and Christina McHardy. He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth “Bette” McHardy; and infant daughter Emily. Scotty was an avid gardener, an old time fiddler, and worked on the Avro Arrow and Canadarm. Visitation was held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm, where the Memorial Service was held in the chapel on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:30 pm. A graveside service will be held in Brampton Cemetery on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 1:30 pm.
