Obituary of Albert Henry Page

PAGE- Peacefully after a long and wonderful life, Albert “Bert” Henry Page passed away at Extendicare Port Stanley on Friday, May 25, 2012 in his 88th year. Bert is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth; his children Larry Page (Bill) of Toronto, Terry (late Elaine) Page of London and Charisse (Tom) McMillan of Port Stanley; his grandchildren James McMillan of Port Stanley and Tanya (late David) Johnston of St. Thomas; great grandchildren Anden and Meghan Johnston; his siblings, Muriel Burt of London and Grace Hutton of Oakville; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Clarence (Mildred) Page and Harold (Freda) Page, sister Kathleen (Jack) Scratch, brothers-in-law Hugh Burt and Ev Hutton. Bert was born in St. Thomas to the late Henry and Isabel Page. He worked as a Shell Petroleum Agent in London for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a dedicated volunteer for numerous charity organizations and he was a member of The Golden “K” (Kiwanis Club) in St. Thomas. During the Second World War, Bert served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from September 1943 to July 1946. Arrangements entrusted to the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570). In keeping with his words, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London on a later date. Donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose. For all that we love deeply becomes part of us.”-Helen Keller Cremation with Interment Cremation has taken place.
