Remembering a dear and loving Brother-in-Law and Uncle, with much love and wonderful memories.
Jim, Sandra, Sherri & Brian.
Dearest Caren, Ken, Lisa, Sebastian, Chelsea and Mackenzie -
Do not shed tears when I have gone,
But smile instead because I have lived.
Do not shut your eyes and pray that I will be back,
But open your eyes and see all that I have left behind.
You can remember me and grieve that I have gone, or you can cherish my memory and let it live on.
I want you to be full of the love that we shared.

To: Caren, Lisa and Ken. Please accept our sincere sympathies at this time. John and I met 56 years ago at our teaching positions at Arthur Voaden Secondary School. Throughout his career he was active in many aspects of education. Of particular influence on me, were his efforts on behalf of the UWO Althouse College staff upgrading programme. His diverse abilities leave a lasting heritage. Rest In Peace John. Larry and Doreen Dunn

Dear Caren, Ken, Lisa, Sebastian,Chelsea and Mackenzie
“ Grief never ends…
But it changes
Grief is a passage,
not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith…
Grief is the price of Love.”

John has been and will be sadly missed by the congregation of New Vision Community Church.
Much of our close time with John occurred at the numerous fund-raising and fellowship events at St. Mark’s United Church ( now New Vision Community Church). John and Caren could always be counted on for support at these events. I remember vividly any time I asked John if he would do a specific task, he would quickly say in his”gruff” voice “NO”, but immediately there was a smile and answer “ yes, I can do that”. As a bonus Caren was always at his side to help and the two of them would stay until the event was over and all clean-up done.
If something didn’t work or was broken “call John”. He was able to keep the original furnace in the Church working well past its expected expiry date, as well as being the Property Chairman for close to 30 years at the Church.
If I came up with a new idea for an activity or fund-raiser I would like to run it past John first. He would always listen and offer ideas to enhance or improve and we would make it happen, ie Grab ‘n” Go Dinners and Trunk Sale. For many years while I coordinated the Chicken Grab’n’ Go Dinners, in alternating months, John and Caren ran the Pork Grab’n’Go Dinners.
Over the many years we have known John and Caren we have celebrated together many joyous occasions —-special birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, New Year’s Eve etc.
We also were fortunate to be in a Florida during Spring Break for many years. We would spend time with John and Caren and other friends trying out new restaurants or just sitting out visiting during lovely warm summery evenings in March.
We feel privileged to have known John as a friend for so many years. We extend our condolences to Caren, Ken, Lisa, Sebastian, Chelsea, Mackenzie, and other family members.

We extend our condolences to the Armstrong family.
In the more than three decades that we shared teaching duties at Arthur Voaden Secondary School, he was always a man of unquestionable integrity. We are pleased that we were able to share so many memorable moments over those years. His family can be justifiably proud of the positive influence he had on many hundreds of students.
John Armstrong RIP.
